Workplace Presence – Mass Meeting
Bulletin No.6.25
Dear Members,
As a result of the Premiers Circular issued last year, a “Workplace Presence” briefing was held by Transport for NSW, Sydney Trains, and NSW Trains last week.
This was purportedly the commencement of consultation.
Many concerned members have contacted us confused and distressed that this return to the office proposal is being rammed through without proper process or genuine consultation.
The RTBU wishes to assure members that – THE FIGHTBACK IS ON!
The RTBU along with the ASU and Professionals Australia have:
- Demanded Transport come clean on what actual engagement they have had with their workforce, including those members caring for children, living in regional areas, or working with a disability, as well as those who require, or indeed were promised, flexible work arrangements.
- Served Transport for NSW and Sydney Trains with a Notice to Produce to obtain their Risk Assessments relating to significant workplace change under the Work Health and Safety Act.
- Notified both Transport for NSW and Sydney Trains that the matter is in dispute and therefore the status quo prevails until the dispute is resolved.
- Will be convening a meeting of RTBU, ASU, and PA delegates and activists to design a member campaign that puts political pressure on the NSW State Government, a Government that is well and truly already on the nose with essential workers.
RTBU members are invited to a FIGHTBACK meeting on Friday, 7 March 2025 at 10am (1000hrs).
Please make every effort to attend.
