USE OF GPS SYDNEY TRAINS VEHICLES
Bulletin No. 47.20
Consultation is continuing with Sydney Trains regarding the use of a new GPS system known as Telematics currently being installed in vehicles.
The devices have been installed in several light and heavy vehicles across the network and the rollout is proposed to continue.
The RTBU has received a commitment that management cannot use any new data from the new telematics for disciplinary matters until the policy has been agreed and implemented.
In regards to the data, it will be stored on a separate secure server dedicated for this purpose by Sydney Trains. Access is restricted and controlled by Sydney Trains Motor Vehicle Fleet Team Manager and can only be accessed through a request to that manager.
Members should forward any issues to your delegate or contact Sydney Trains directly with your concerns to: TelematicsHelpDesk@transport.nsw.gov.au
