The RTBU is holding events to commemorate the International Day of Mourning on April 28th, and May Day on May 1st.
International Day of Mourning
On the International Day of Mourning, we remember and commemorate the lives lost due to work-related incidents or illness. It is an important day for the families who have lost loved ones.

May Day Saturday
On Saturday May 1, 2021 workers across NSW will come together to celebrate Union Pride at Annual May Day events across NSW, there will be events in Parramatta, the South Coast and Newcastle.
Parramatta Rally and Family Fun Day
What: May Day March and Family Fun Day
Where: We will assemble at Prince Alfred Square in Parramatta, march to Willow Grove then back to Prince Alfred Square.
When: March kicks off at 10:30am and the Family Fun Day will start at 12pm.

There will be rides, food, bands and entertainment. Keep an eye out for the RTBU flags so we can march together.
May Day in Newcastle
What: A march and picnic in Hamilton.
Where: Meet at Hamilton Station car to march to Gregson Park for speeches.
When: 9:30am for a 10am kick off. Saturday May 1, 2021.

There will be a sausage sizzle for a gold coin donation, or you can bring your own picnic. Keep an eye out for the RTBU flags so we can march together.
The May Day Dinner: Newcastle
For members in Newcastle and the Hunter the May Day Dinner will kick off at 7pm.
What: The May Day Dinner
Where: South Leagues Club, Merewether.
When: Saturday May 1, 2021 at 7pm.

May Day in Wollongong
On the South Coast union members will hold the annual May Day March on Saturday May 1, 2021.
