IT’S TIME TO SUPPORT GOOD JOBS
Your union representatives met with management on the 22nd August. We told them that we an Agreement that secures good jobs now and in the future.
Together, we said that we reject the Transport Minister’s attacks on our jobs and our families’ futures. We said that management need to put all the redundancy and redeployment options from the Deed into the Agreement to show that they are serious about securing jobs and not just lining up more cuts.
We also said we want a serious conversation about how contract labour is used so that we secure good jobs and make sure that contractors are not exploited – we are hopeful this will happen next week.
Management also provided their views on the future of NSW Trains. It is clear there is no plan about who will do the work needed to run the railway and how management will recruit good staff. We told management it is time to show they value us, the work that we do and the value of our service for passengers and come up with a plan – the first step is to negotiate a fair Agreement with staff.
