Training and Progression Issues for Sydney Trains Infrastructure Workers

To: RTBU Members – Sydney Trains Infrastructure Division

The union has recently been contacted by numerous members from the infrastructure division regarding concerns about a lack of access to training and progression through the competency-based Classification Structures clauses 135, 136, 137 of the Sydney Trains Enterprise Agreement 2018 (the Agreement).

The Agreement deals specifically these types of issues at clause 156, which creates a committee with the power to review and make recommendations to the Chief Executive directly. If the committee does not perform its functions then the issue can be subject to a dispute under clause 8 of the Agreement.

If you have an issue accessing training a progression, contact your Delegate with the details including the dates & times you have been denied access to such progression.
