Sydney Trains Station Staff Allowance Win
Bulletin No. 15.21
Members and Delegates have had an important win in securing a successful disability allowance assessment.
This assessment looks at the level of disruption caused by major works at stations. If the assessment find disruption above a certain level, members are entitled to additional compensation.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic disability assessments had not taken place. Members stuck together and insisted they be reinstated, and management finally listened.
This week the Disability Assessment Team made up of staff members, union representatives and management conducted assessments at several stations.
We were represented by Terry Johnson, CSA Sub-Division Secretary.
These following stations were successfully assessed and will now receive an additional allowance.
Petersham Banksia Wollstonecraft
Unfortunately, the following stations did not score enough points to secure the additional compensation.
Wolli Creek Arncliffe Redfern
Redfern Station will be revisited later as the construction has only begun.
If your station is being upgraded, preparing for an upgrade or has been upgraded contact your workplace delegate or the RTBU on 9264 2511 for support organising an assessment at your station.
