To: All RTBU Members,
We have had a win. For some time now, we have told management that inconsistent payment of annual leave loading is not okay and we need a transparent and reliable system to ensure everyone is treated fairly.
After standing together through countless disputes, management has finally listened. It is now agreed that:
| From Monday 1 January 2018, there will no longer be lump sum payments of leave loading on the untaken annual leave balance of previous years’ annual leave.
Instead, you will receive leave loading at the time you take annual leave. This change has been made to simplify the leave loading payment and to improve consistency of payment amounts during leave for shift workers. The payroll system has been changed to reflect these changes and this will ensure that annual leave loading payments are consistently applied.
