Sydney and NSW Trains Guards: Protected Industrial Action
Bulletin 03/2018
To: All RTBU Sydney and NSW Trains Guard Members,
After yesterday’s notice an overtime ban taking place from Thursday, January 25th.
This ban relates to extra shifts; either rostered or call out.
If you plan to participate in the protected industrial action you do need to tell your employer. You cannot just fail to show up for a rostered overtime shift. You should call your Rostering Officers to inform them that you will be participating in the protected action. You are not required to work overtime if already rostered for the period of the ban once you have notified management. For the avoidance of doubt, if you have not NTA’d your days, you can participate in this protected industrial action.
Notice was also given yesterday of a badge day this Friday. Badges will be available ASAP from your delegate.
If you have union branded items, you are encouraged to wear them from Friday. If you are a delegate and do not have a union shirt, please contact your organiser. While wearing union gear, it is still important that you comply with TWP 100 to make sure you are safe at work
If you have any questions, please call the RTBU Office on 9264 2511.
