SUPPORT YOUR PICNIC DAY “BUY A TICKET”

To: All Sydney and NSW Trains Members:

Members are advised that your Picnic Day is fast approaching and application forms for the purchase of picnic tickets are already available in some areas.

Your Picnic day is an employee entitlement covered by Clause 30 and Clause 29 in the respective Sydney and NSW Trains 2014 Enterprise Agreement (EA).  This employee entitlement has been under attack and comes up for discussion at almost every EA negotiation.

For years now there has been a decline in ticket sales which has a serious impact on the ability of the Picnic Committees to afford and provide the best possible day out for the members and their families.

The decline in ticket sales also serves to undermine this entitlement.

For the sum of between $10 and $20 dollars, depending on the Picnic Committee, employees are entitled to a “days” pay.

Members are reminded that to be paid the day they must provide evidence of attendance or desired attendance at the picnic by producing the butt of the Picnic Ticket or the Picnic Ticket number to their manager and/or timekeeper.

Employees who work on the day and cannot attend the Picnic are entitled to “accrue” the day and must advise their manager of this intention to avoid having the day paid in the next pay after the Picnic Day.

HELP KEEP THIS ENTITLEMENT AND ALLOW THE PICNIC COMMITTEES TO PROVIDE THE BEST PICNIC DAY POSSIBLE – BUY A PICNIC TICKET –
