Salary packaging leaves members short-changed
The Loco Division has been working to resolve a salary packaging issue, following revelations that a number of workers’ salary packaging arrangements have been negatively impacted by the recent change from RailCorp to Sydney and NSW Trains.
Communication from the Rail Entities and Maxxia – the company responsible for the salary packaging – led to a belief that there had been a change in employers, and therefore new contracts had to be signed with Maxxia.
The move left a number of employees’ short changed, however following intervention from the union, both Sydney Trains and NSW Trains have now agreed to compensate any affected members and to write to those individual members to advise of the arrangements to compensate.
Should affected members not hear from their employer, please contact your local manager requesting that correspondence be provided.
