My name is Trent Gilbert, and I’m the Country Labor candidate for the seat of Clarence on the North Coast of NSW.
I am a North Coast local, living in Casino with my wife Rebekah and our 3 children – Isaak, Atticus and Darcy. I work as a Passenger Attendant on the NSW Trainlink XPT service between Brisbane and Sydney. I love working in our rail network, and I’m a passionate RTBU member.
While the Liberals and Nationals spend billions knocking down perfectly good stadiums in Sydney, our local schools, hospitals and communities have suffered.
Over $14 billion of your taxpayer dollars have been wasted on cost blowouts on major transport projects, including the disastrous Sydney Light Rail and WestConnex.
In order to pay for their negligence, the Liberals and Nationals continue to sell off our public assets like our roads, our electricity network, hospitals and public transport.
I will fight against the privatisation of our public transport network.
We need a NSW Labor Government and local Labor MPs who will fight for the rights of our local communities and our transport system. A Labor Government will invest in transport by:
- Making transport free for kids on the Opal Network
- Setting aside $8 billion to fast-track the Western Metro
- Investing $3 billion to upgrade Sydney’s rail network
- Reviewing train timetables
- Scrapping the Sydney Airport station access fee for Airport workers, and reducing it to $5 for regular passengers
- Investing $10 million to develop a rapid transport link between Liverpool and the Western Sydney Airport
I want to achieve a better outcome for the people of NSW, and for the people in my community of Clarence.
I want to be a part of a NSW Labor Government, and I’m proud to stand with Labor, the RTBU and the people of NSW who want a properly funded and managed transport system.
Four more years of the Liberals and Nationals in NSW will be devastating for the people of NSW and our important public services.
We need to fight to protect our services and our community assets.
If you can donate your time, there are many campaign activities that need volunteers in order to get our message out to the community.
Alternatively, if you are unable to volunteer your time, I would welcome a cash donation to support our campaign.
hanks for your support in this important fight for a better government for NSW, a better public transport system, and a fairer go for all.
Yours sincerely,
Trent Gilbert
