Reminder: May Day marches this weekend
This weekend is May Day, and we will once again be marching together as a strong and proud union. On May Day we celebrate past victories, acknowledge ongoing struggles and galvanise our solidarity and collective commitment to always fight for the rights of workers.
Information for Sydney:
May Day March and Rally – Sunday 1 May 11.30am at Town Hall Square:
The May Day March will commence at Town Hall Square, where union members will assemble from 11.30am. Rank and file member speeches will take place here, which will include a speech from an RTBU delegate.
The march route is Bathurst St – Elizabeth St – Park St – College St – finishing at Macquarie St outside NSW Parliament where further speeches will take place from union Secretaries.
There will be music entertainment and food trucks on Macquarie Street. Showbags will be provided for families in place of the family fun day which is unable to take place due to council restrictions on parks because of wet weather and the state of the ground in the parks.
Any RTBU members attending the Sydney rally should meet out the front of the 321 Pitt Street office at 1100 so we can walk down to Town Hall together.
