Station Staff – Industrial Action commencing tomorrow

May 8, 2023
we will bargain together

From tomorrow, two actions are restarting from 0001hrs that affect station staff:

1. A ban on non-safeworking training and non-safeworking competency assessments

2. Station staff to leave the gates open at all times.

The overwhelming success of the last round of industrial action for these items have resulted in the renewing of them to continue until 10 October 2022 and beyond. Stations’ members have shown outstanding solidarity with the rest of the Union.

Station staff have been the subject of awful abuse over the past month, and we all owe you a great debt of gratitude for this. The Rail Entities and the NSW Government has a lot to answer for this neglect and the failure to keep us all safe when we’re at work.

There are some exciting actions just round the corner when Station Staff will take a front seat in this campaign in actions that are designed to win favour with the public and bring the Government and Management to its knees.

Our Infrastructure Division is also taking some significant industrial action designed to pressure the Government, but to keep the public on side.

Stay tuned.
