NSW Trains Announce “Business Reviews” for Regional NSW
Bulletin 6 – 2016
To: RTBU Sydney Trains Station Duty Managers,
At a meeting with NSW Trains management late last week they announced that they are about to commence “business reviews” at regional locations.
The reviews are brought about by the NSW Coalition Government who think NSW Trains needs to move to a more cost effective and technology driven model and they base their rationale on “projected” trends of on line ticket sales.
It is quite evident that these “business reviews” are in fact the lead up to actual “STAFF REVIEWS” which we all know are about reducing staffing levels.
So much for customer service and that “the customers are first in everything we do”.
NSW Trains advised that for the next two weeks the Regional Service Delivery Managers (RSDMs) will be having discussions with their staff to find out from them what additional services are provided over and above ticket sales.
A meeting between NSW Trains’ management, Staff Review Committee Members and the Unions is scheduled for Tuesday 22nd March to discuss the next steps.
The RTBU believes that the locations are:
Murwillumbah | Nambucca Heads | Tamworth | Orange | Harden |
Byron Bay | Macksville | Narrabri | Wellington | Cootamundra |
Lismore | Kempsey | Gunnedah | Dubbo | Junee |
Casino | Wauchope | Broadmeadow** | Parkes | Wagga |
Grafton | Taree | Central** | Canberra | Albury |
Coffs Harbour | Armidale | Bathurst | Yass Junction | Broken Hill |
Blayney | Griffith |
** Note: These are travel centres
The RTBU Staff Review Delegates are: Joanne McCallum (Tuggerah), John Whitty (Wagga) and Doug Collins (Grafton).
Members, and in particular Delegates from the regional locations are encouraged to contact the RTBU Office before the workplace management visits to ensure that they are aware of all the latest up to date relevant information.
Members will be advised of any further information as and when NSW Trains releases more details.
