MTS – Vivid Cleaning Dispute – Latest Update
Bulletin No.18.25
Dear Members,
As you would be aware, the RTBU raised a dispute with MTS around the lack of consultation related to the introduction of the new cleaning contract.
RTBU members were alarmed at receiving correspondence from MTS regarding reduced cleaning hours and a significant change in tasks.
Particularly concerning was the comment about ‘many hands make light work,’ which appeared to suggest that frontline staff would be expected to take on additional cleaning duties.
The RTBU met with MTS yesterday to discuss members concerns.
We are pleased to say that MTS has assured the union that it is business as usual and THERE ARE NO ADDITIONAL CLEANING TASKS REQUIRED OF THE FRONTLINE!
MTS will meet with your Organiser Amanda Perkins and RTBU Delegates Scott Kitto, Jaqueline Smith and Nathan Cambey very shortly to resolve any outstanding issues and hopefully close out this dispute.
Thank you to all the members who contacted the RTBU and stood up!
If you are asked to do any cleaning tasks that are different from what you normally do, contact your RTBU delegates.
