Mandatory mask wearing extended to Wollongong and Shellharbour
Today the NSW Government extended mandatory mask wearing on a public transport service or a public transport waiting area to cover the local government areas of Wollongong and Shellharbour in addition to Greater Sydney which includes the Blue Mountains. The updated advice is enforceable from 4pm today Sunday 20 June 2021 and is expected to be in place until 12:01am Thursday 24 June.
Masks will also be mandatory from 4pm in all public indoor venues in the City of Sydney, Waverley, Randwick, Canada Bay, Inner West, Bayside, and Woollahra local government areas. These venues include retail, theatres, aged care facilities and for front-of-house hospitality staff.
This is due to two more cases of COVID-19 being reported overnight. The Government has stressed that the next few days are critical in preventing further spread of the virus and has called on everyone to follow the advice and get tested. Please continue to check the list of confirmed cases and follow the health advice. Read more here.
