Late buses inevitable

The M41 is notoriously late

The Daily Telegraph’s article today that claimed that STA buses had been running late for five years was a slap in the face for RTBU Tram and Bus division members.

As drivers we know that the main reason buses run late is because there’s not enough running time scheduled on certain routes – meaning it’s next to impossible to finish the run on time.

The solution is more realistic timetabling – something that’s certainly out of the drivers’ control.

In the meantime, the union advises all drivers to continue to report late running times and if you’re driving on a route which is consistently late, report it to your delegate. 

We’ll be keeping a close eye on this issue.
