To: All RTBU NSW Laing O’Rourke Members

As most of you are aware the Laing O’Rourke Australia Construction Pty Ltd Rail Infrastructure – Rail Track & Associated Works Enterprise Agreement 2012-2016 New South Wales expires on the 30^th of June 2016.

Workplace delegates and representatives from the Rail, Tram and Bus Union (the Union) are about to begin enterprise agreement negotiations with Laing O’Rourke management for new and improved workplace conditions for all members.

The first step of this process is to formalise a log of claims that the membership are seeking in this new enterprise agreement.

Along with this bulletin you will find a Survey attached to be filled out so you can have your say about what you want in your new agreement.

All employees are urged to fill out this survey and have their say.

If you are not a member of the Rail, Tram and Bus Union and wish to have your say in the Union’s log of claims, and would like for those views be represented by the Union and workplace delegates, I strongly urge you to join the rank and file and become a Union member.

The power of the Union comes from the workshop floor as YOU are the Union. The more numbers YOU have, the stronger YOU are. The more voices YOU have, the louder YOU are heard.

An enterprise bargaining period is one of the most important times to stand by each other in complete support.

This sign of support shows the management team that you are all a united front and will stand together through thick and thin against any potential threats or attacks that come your way and which will be met by each and every employee, standing as one, head on.

Only through this unbreakable support of each other will your wants and needs be achieved.

Now is the time, more than ever to be a part of the Union and join your workmates during this tough negotiation period.
