Know Your Rights – Holiday Pay
Bulletin 01/18
To: All RTBU Sydney Trains Guards Members,
We have received a number of questions about the correct pay for the Christmas Holiday roster period (starting 24 Dec 2017 and ending 6 Jan 2018).
We took all those concerns to management and made them listen. We can confirm that as Sydney Trains Guards, we have a right to claim Lift Up and Lay Back.
1. For any shifts on the 29th, 30th and 31st December, we can claim Lift Up or Lay Back either:
a) up to an agreed maximum of 4 hours against the November Master Roster; or
b). with no limit against the Christmas Master Roster, whichever is greater; and
2. For all other shifts during this period, claim Lift Up or Lay Back against the Christmas Master Roster (no hours limit) as set out in the Guards Rostering and Working Arrangements, including Stand By Shifts.
If this does not reflect your current timesheet claims, submit an amended timesheet to make sure you are paid fairly and correctly.
