John Holland Country Regional Network Infrastructure – Restructure Announcement

RTBU members and organisers recently met with John Holland management to hear their announcement about the potential loss of jobs in the Country Regional Network.

Management told us that there is now a $50 million budget shortfall because Transport for NSW (TFNSW) has not continued with the funding management expected. Management are now proposing redundancies across the board.

The job losses are being projected as possibly 2 salary positions and 60 wages positions from the frontline workforce.

Our RTBU team has called a meeting with management to ensure that they minimise any forced redundancies and that the hardworking infrastructure teams do not bear the brunt of poor decisions they had no part in.

CALL TO ACTION:

The budget cuts are being implemented by the NSW Government via TFNSW.

Therefore we all need to contact our local Members of Parliament and ask what they are doing to save regional jobs and demand action in restoring the budget to the CRN.
