Evidence Filed in CA-CSA Dispute
Bulletin: 20.20
To: Rail, Tram and Bus Union – Sydney Trains Customer Service Attendants and Cleaning Attendants.
On Tuesday, the RTBU finalised and filed its evidence in the Fair Work Commission for the long running reclassification dispute for Cleaning Attendants on stations. Sydney Trains expects Cleaning Attendants to do a significant amount of customer service work but refuses to compensate them appropriately for it.
While we don’t have a hearing date yet, we expect to receive Sydney Trains’ response in little over a month.
We’d like to extend a big shout out to members at Bondi Junction, Caringbah, Homebush, Emu Plains and Lidcombe for assisting us with witness statements. Your work and time here is invaluable and will go a really long way in showing the Commission how hard you all work to make sure customers are safe and happy, and the trains and stations are clean.
We’d also like to say a big thanks to all the members that have continued to work hard while this dispute works through the Commission process. It’s been a long time coming, and we’re pleased to say we can get finally see the light at the end of tunnel.
