ARTC Strike Payments

Members will be aware of the recent ARTC strike and the resultant payment to affected regional drivers of 8hrs non subject.

The Loco Division was aware that track work was scheduled to occur between Taree and Grafton on one of the days the strike occurred and has successfully pursued appropriate payment for those drivers who would have been rostered to work on that day. The planned track work actually occurred and rosters were prepared that reflected the track work, altered diagrams were issued to drivers and coaches ordered to replace the train services. Once this evidence was produced, NSW Trains reversed its decision on minimum payments and has now agreed to pay the entitlements contained within existing agreements to those affected drivers from both depots.
