ARTC INFRASTRUCTURE: PROTECTED INDUSTRIAL ACTION UPDATE
Fair Work Commission Update Your RTBU team was in the Fair Work Commission today to get urgent orders to stop management from standing down members participating in travel by plane and staying overnight work-bans. After submissions by both your union barrister and management’s lawyer, it was apparent that the Commission did not share our view on the type of action you are participating in and why your rights needed to be protected. Given this, your RTBU representatives decided to withdraw the Commission application and put resources into your workplace fight.
After the Commission’s comments and discussions with delegates, RTBU members will no longer enforce the ban on travel to worksites by plane or staying overnight away from home.
Next Steps Depot meetings are happening around the state with updates on Agreement negotiations. So far the message is clear – you are ready to fight for a good Agreement. Watch your email for details of what we will do next!
The ban on on-call and call out work still remains in force.
If management tries to force you to do on-call or call out work, contact your organiser Luke Hayden on 0499 710 707.
Together we can win a fair Agreement that respects the value of your work.
In Solidarity!
