ARTC INFRASTRUCTURE: INDEFINITE BANS ON STAYING AWAY FROM HOME OVERNIGHT AND TRAVELLING TO WORK LOCATIONS BY PLANE!

Oct 19, 2017Bulletins

Bulletin 60 – 2017

At 06:00am tomorrow morning (Friday, 20th October 2017) indefinite bans on staying away from home overnight and travelling to work locations by plane will go into effect.

If you are an RTBU Member covered by the ARTC Infrastructure Maintenance New South Wales Enterprise Agreement 2014, these protected action bans allow you to;

  • Refuse to Live Away;
  • Refuse any work that will require you to stay overnight away from home;
  • Refuse to travel to any work location that requires you to catch a plane.

You are able to undertake work that requires travel (except by plane) if you can return home each night and remain within fatigue management guidelines.

As an RTBU member you are protected by law in taking part in this indefinite action.

If you are not an RTBU member, you are NOT protected by law in taking part in this indefinite action.

ARTC management has been reminded that ARTC is prohibited by law from taking any adverse action against members who take part in this protected industrial action.

However, it is legal for ARTC management to use scare tactics and counter-measures to place pressure on you and your families when you take protected action. They may threaten to dock your pay or stand you down. If this occurs, ALL members are urged to contact your organiser Luke Hayden on 0499 710 707 immediately.

In Solidarity!
