ARTC 2015 Enterprise Agreement (EA) Negotiations Update URGENT NEWS

Nov 18, 2015Bulletins

Bulletin 62 –

TO: ARTC Members

Members are advised that ARTC management will today commence discussions with staff in regards to their latest EA “offer”. Although this latest EA “offer” has had some movement in the right direction the negotiations are far from being concluded and the RTBU is not in a position to recommend any acceptance or rejection of this proposal.

ARTC’s “Proposed Offer” is as follows:

  • 2% salary increase per annum
  • 3 year Agreement
  • On-Call allowance increased to $30 and $60. (depending on whether rostered or non-rostered)

(This reflects what is in the 2014 Infrastructure EA. However it will not increase each year of the EA which does not reflect the 2014 Infrastructure EA)

Overnight expenses increased to $180 per night (This reflects what is in the 2014 Infrastructure EA. However it will not increase each year of the EA which does not reflect the 2014 Infrastructure EA)

  • Amendment to Network Control annual leave clause to incorporate treatment of leave during public holidays. (Note there is no detail as to what this means)
  • Amendment to Coverage clause to remove coverage for employees whose total remuneration package are greater than or equal to $180,000.

At this point of the negotiations there are still significant concerns as to the application and interpretation of the Federal Government’s “Workplace Bargaining Policy” document which the combined Rail Unions are seeking legal advice.

There are also items in the CRU’s log of claims that remain to be satisfactorily addressed and pending the legal advice there may be an updated log presented to ARTC.

It is imperative that Members have complete awareness and knowledge of what is in any proposed offer and what the impacts of this offer would have on their working conditions.

Members are reminded that the EA negotiations have not concluded and they should question ARTC management as to what are ARTC’s intentions.

The next scheduled EA negotiations meeting is set for Tuesday 1st December, 2015 at Broadmeadow
