AIRPORT LINK UPDATE
To: Rail, Tram and Bus Union – Airport Link Members
There has been some conjecture about what happened in relation to the Easter weekend rostering. Some concerns have been raised regarding full-time staff being removed from their normal rostered days over the Easter weekend roster.
At no stage was it agreed to take any employees off the Easter weekend roster. This was a decision made by the Company alone and no consultation occurred with the union.
On 6 April 2020, the RTBU contacted management and stated that “it’s important that consultation takes place first and agreement reached…. Could we also request that employees be emailed with any proposed changes rather than just text messages?”
The Company has previously asked whether full time employees may be willing to take leave to allow other employees to collect a wage in this difficult time. The RTBU made sure that if this occurred, employees would not be forced into agreeing to go on leave. The union will be holding workplace meetings in the beginning of June. Any issues in relation to the above can be raised directly at that time. Alternatively, you can contact the office on (02) 9264 2511 email@example.com.
