Sydney & NSW Trains given a 7-day deadline on Cleaning Claims
Dear members,
The current ban on operating trains that don’t meet minimum maintenance centre standards continues to hurt Sydney Trains.
This morning, we put a position to management around resolving our remaining claims.
Remember that we are still fighting for:
• $2.55 per hour allowance for higher standard cleaning
• Guaranteed job security for the cleaning of the NIF and the New Regional Fleet.
To help move these claims forward, we have given Management a 7 day period where the following locations will clean hazardous waste and mop spills in trains that have been blown-out by Train Crew:
- Leppington Stabling Yard
- Auburn Stabling Yard
- Campbelltown Stabling Yard
- Flemington Maintenance Centre
This will start from 8pm tonight, 22 August until 8pm on 29 August. Management have to tell us the exact location (e.g. car number) that the waste or spill is in, and we will only clean the identified area. If we are not told where the issue is, then we will continue to apply our ban.
If management have not agreed to our claims above by 8pm on 29 August, this arrangement will end, and the ban will be back on in full.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your local delegates, or the office on (02) 9264 2511, or nswho@rtbu-nsw.asn.au.
