RTBU INDUSTRIAL ADVOCATE

To: RTBU Rail Operations, Salaried, Infrastructure and Workshop Division Members,

The NSW Branch has created a new position in the office for members in the Rail Operations, Infrastructure, Salaried/Admin and Workshops Divisions known as the Industrial Advocate.

The Industrial Advocate’s role will be to ensure that members industrial issues and enquiries are addressed quickly and efficiently. This will allow Organisers to spend more time in workplaces, organising, mentoring delegates and building union power throughout the industry.

As a Union, we are facing significant challenges with hostile employers and governments and it is vitally important that we make sure we direct our resources appropriately. Our Industrial Advocate will ensure that the Union can continue to assist each and every member, while taking up the fight to the boss at the same time.
