Taking the NIF call to our elected MPs
As part of the ongoing campaign to protect workers and commuters from the dangers of the NSW Government’s New InterCity Fleet, RTBU officials and members met with the Shadow Transport spokesperson, Chris Minns, as well as the Member for Newcastle, Tim Crakanthorp last week to discuss concerns around the NIF.
As a result of the meetings, Tim Crakanthorp posed some questions about the safety of the NIF directly to the Transport Minister, Andrew Constance, in Parliament.
You can view the questions here: https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/la/papers/pages/qanda-tracking-details.aspx?pk=246434
The Minister is due to respond to the questions by the 23rd July. Any answer he does give will also be printed on that website.
As RTBU members well know, the New InterCity train is a disaster waiting to happen.
If you haven’t already, you can also raise your concerns around the NIF directly with the Minister by visiting https://ourtransport.org.au/guarding-our-safety/
The more people who raise concerns around the NIF, the greater chance we have of forcing Transport for NSW and the Transport Minister to listen.
