ARTC EA Negotiations Finally Set to Continue
Bulletin: 29/2018
To: All ARTC Infrastructure Maintenance Members
After approximately 3 months of continuous attempts from your bargaining team to get ARTC management back to the table and members beginning voting in a protected action ballot to prepare for potential strike action, management have finally agreed to the next negotiating meeting. The meeting is scheduled for this Friday, 11th May 2018.
It is unknown if management will come to the table with anything new. However, if there is a new offer from management, this will be the meeting where it will be presented.
October 2018 will mark 2 years since we began negotiations with this company. In that time we have seen industrial action in the form of bans on overtime and on-call which we have rolled back in a sign of good faith to close out these negotiations, however that good faith is dwindling.
ARTC has the means and the resources to close out this new agreement on Friday; we urge them to cease delaying this enterprise agreement further and to present a fair offer to your bargaining team.
We have had enough. Members around the state have said that they are prepared to down their tools if a fair and reasonable deal is not put on the table. A bulletin will be sent out after the meeting on Friday to keep you updated.
The best thing you can do to secure a good Agreement is to vote in the protected action ballot.
If you have not received your ballot, you need to contact Melissa at the AEC immediately on 02 8892 0393 to find out what has happened to the ballot. If you have already received your ballot then make sure you vote YES on every question and send it back immediately.
Voting YES is not a commitment to take every action; it just makes sure we have all options available. If you have questions about the ballot, make sure you speak with your delegate.
In Solidarity!
