Protected action ballot application success. Prepare to vote!
Bulletin: 27.18
To: All RTBU ARTC Infrastructure Maintenance Members,
PROTECTION ACTION BALLOT APPLICATION SUCCESS PREPARE TO VOTE!
The Fair Work Commission has approved your request for a Protected Action Ballot (PABO)!
What happens now?
The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) has received a list of eligible employees from management and a list of union members from the RTBU office to create a roll of voters for the ballot.
This is your last chance to make sure you get a vote, you must confirm that your contact details (address and name) held by the RTBU and management match. If your details are different you will not be on the roll of voters.
To confirm that you are on the roll of voters, you should contact the Returning Officer prior to 5:00pm on Tuesday, 1st May 2018 to confirm your status. The returning officers name is Melissa and she can be contacted on 02 8892 0393.
The voting period will open from Wednesday, 2nd May 2018 and close on Friday, 1st June 2018. This means that you need to:
- Contact the Returning Officer and check you are on the roll of voters; and
- Ask at least one of your workmates to do the same thing.
How the vote works
You will only get the opportunity to take action if a majority of members vote and vote YES. Remember a YES vote in the PABO is not a commitment to take every action listed – it is a chance to make sure you have all options available to you and your workmates. Your RTBU team recommends you vote YES on every question.
Not a member? Don’t delay – join your fellow workmates in the RTBU and get involved now to fight for what you deserve!
