Accessibility upgrades welcome but more permanent station staff needed
A Transport for NSW spokesperson told the St Mary Star that work is underway for a planned accessibility update at Rooty Hill station in response to commuter comments that while there have been some accessibility improvements public transport access is “still pretty bad” for people with different needs.
While we welcome the fact that that Transport for NSW is working on accessibility upgrades at a number of stations, these must be accompanied by more permanent station staff.
Loco division members know only too well that savage cuts to station staff in recent years have made our stations less accessible and less safe.
