Sydney May Day March and Family Fun Day 2017
This year’s May Day March is just around the corner and we’re planning a big RTBU presence! We hope you’ll join us in standing up for workers’ rights while having fun at the same time.
WHEN: Sunday, 7th May 12-5PM
Speeches will kick off from 12pm and will be followed by a march to Prince Alfred Park for food, live music and entertainment. With activities planned for all ages this is a family fun day that’s not to be missed.
This year the theme for May Day is fighting inequality, with a focus on workers’ rights. Under conservative Governments we’ve seen the gap between the rich and the poor widen, cuts to penalty rates with 700,000 workers’ losing up to $6,000 a year, the loss of decent secure employment, the soaring costs of living and the introduction of the ABCC.
With so much at stake for the working class, May Day is our opportunity to come together and fight back for a better future.
Let’s make this year’s May Day the biggest we’ve ever seen to show conservative Governments that the workers’ united will never be defeated.
