Decentralisation of Central Depot
Bulletin 44.16 – 2016
To: RTBU Guard Members – Sydney Trains,
Members are advised that the RTBU Guards Sub-Division met with the Sydney Trains Future Operations team to discuss the progress of the Depot Rebalancing Program (Decentralisation of Central).
Discussed at this meeting and of huge significance is the commitment from Sydney Trains that there are to be “NO” forced transfers of Train Crew.
This meeting also outlined that Train Crew will be receiving Transfer Packs consisting of information about the Depot Rebalancing program, indicative depot profiles detailing the nature of work at each depot, and all relevant forms to facilitate the movements of any Train Crew who wish to transfer.
Transfer packs have been distributed electronically via Train Crew iPad on Monday, 17th October and paper copies will also be available from Shift Managers.
It must be noted that the RTBU Guards Representatives raised numerous concerns regarding the information contained within the Transfer Packs, which was ignored by Sydney Trains, notably the actual long-term numbers of Guards at Central versus the number as identified in the Pack and the details on the Application Form.
In addition to the Transfer Packs, Train Crew information sessions will be conducted with both RTBU Representatives and Sydney Trains Management.
These sessions will be held in the Bradfield Room at Sydney Terminal (adjacent Platform 1) commencing Thursday, 20th October 2016
