ARTC EA Negotiations Update – 11th May 2018

May 11, 2018Bulletins

Bulletin 30/2018

To: All ARTC Infrastructure Maintenance Members

Your bargaining team met with ARTC today, 11th May 2018.

Management brought to the table a new offer for their employees. The new offer is as follows;

  • All prior agreed items in regards to the classification structure and progression
  • Trade Union clauses within the Enterprise Agreement to remain
  • A 4 Year Agreement
  • 2.25% pay rise a year starting from the date of approval by the commission (NO Back Pay)

We congratulate the bargaining team and all members in managing to protect your trade union rights within the enterprise agreement; however, after 3 months ARTC have proposed an increase of 0.25% per annum on their previous offer of 2.0% while continuing to shutdown the idea of back pay.

ARTC is to blame for how long these negotiations have gone on for as they refuse to offer a fair agreement to acknowledge the hard work by their employees.

Why is it ok for the CEO to be paid approximately $550,000 a year and then provide himself with a $135,000 Annual bonus and not provide a pay rise of 4% per annum to his employees? The answer is it is NOT OKAY!

They can afford to offer you a decent pay rise, they can afford to back pay you – they CHOOSE not to.

The only way to possibly achieve a better deal is through action, they think you are weak and they will continue to think this until they are forcefully shown they are mistaken.

It is now more important than ever to make sure your ballot is returned with a YES vote to enable you to withdraw your labour and tell ARTC you are strong, united and unbreakable.

In Solidarity!
